The answer first
The advisor-website market grew up: the two biggest vertical vendors now publish their prices. From their own pages today, Snappy Kraken websites run $99 to $199 a month (setup $499 to $2,499) and FMG Suite runs $178 to $1,044 a month (setup $994 to $3,494), with the broker-dealer enterprise lane still quote-only. A comparable site from TechTailors at the Professional plan, about 6 billable pages for a typical advisory practice, is $300 a month: $5,850 in year one on monthly billing, or $4,125 with annual prepay, from a published rate card. The compounding difference is ownership: at month 13 you hold every account and a published path to the code, or you hold a subscription.
What the incumbents charge
| Provider | Monthly | Setup | Notes | Source and date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FMG Suite | $178 Essential, $418 Premium, $1,044 Do It For Me + Premium | $994 / $3,194 / $3,494 | Website plus marketing platform with compliance workflow | Primary: their pricing page (updated June 2026), captured 2026-08-28 |
| Snappy Kraken (Websites) | $99 Foundations (up to 20 basic pages), $199 Grow (custom design, unlimited pages), annual term | $499 / $2,499 | A-la-carte website product; bundles $298 to $999/mo with setups to $2,998; Freedom360 done-for-you $899 to $999/mo | Primary: their pricing page, captured 2026-08-28 |
| Broadridge / AdvisorStream lane | Enterprise-quoted | Quote-only | The broker-dealer-approved incumbent tier publishes no price | No published price; stated as such |
| Custom design agencies | Bespoke advisor builds run four to five figures up front (third-party figure) | Project | The non-platform alternative | Third-party: AltaStreet’s 2026 advisor-website price guide |
Read the setup column twice. A $418/month Premium plan with a $3,194 setup is an $8,210 first year before a single marketing add-on, and the site still lives on the platform.
The platform model has a second cost the price sheets skip: sameness. The templates and the pre-approved content library are the product, and they are sold to thousands of advisors at once, including the ones you compete with. Compliance-safe and identical is a hard combination to rank with, and it is an even harder one to be remembered by.
What TechTailors charges for the same job
A typical advisory site runs about 10 actual pages: home, services sharing one layout, team, philosophy, about, contact, disclosures. Under page-type pricing that is roughly 6 billable pages at the Professional plan’s $50/page/month.
| Monthly billing | Annual prepay (10-for-12) | |
|---|---|---|
| Build fee (published rate card, Blueprint $250 credited) | $1,500 | $750 (half waived) |
| Security-baseline setup (small band, one-time) | $750 | $375 (half waived) |
| Subscription ($300/mo) | $3,600 | $3,000 |
| Year-one total | $5,850 | $4,125 |
Plus the Cloudflare Business plan the baseline runs on, about $250 a month (roughly $200 on annual billing), billed by Cloudflare to your own account and listed here on purpose.
Why Professional? Because the SEC made the question concrete. The 2024 amendments to Regulation S-P require a written incident-response program with customer notification within 30 days, and both compliance dates, December 3, 2025 and June 3, 2026, have passed: every covered adviser is inside the obligation window now. Your website is part of that surface, and the Professional baseline gives its chapter real artifacts: encryption everywhere, multi-factor sign-in on every admin surface, access logs your examiner can ask about, a signed agreement from every vendor touching data, a breach runbook with the 30-day timeline at the top, and an annual review that produces a one-page attestation letter your CCO can file. Compute your own numbers in the calculator.
What the premium buys
We sit above Snappy Kraken’s website line on price, and we are not going to talk around it: TechTailors is a premium anti-agency, and the premium buys things a platform cannot sell. Your site is hand-coded for one practice with no themes and no shared library, so the design is the differentiation, which is the entire point for an independent RIA whose brand is trust. Performance is guaranteed in writing: any page scoring 95 or below in any Lighthouse category on our monthly test is free that month. The security work behind the Reg S-P artifacts is graded A+ by three independent scanners you can re-run yourself.
It is fully managed end to end: design, development, hosting, security, and maintenance are ours to worry about, with unlimited content edits for the life of the subscription and automatic technology upgrades at no extra cost. Disclosure page updates and ADV season edits are covered work, not change orders. Every month we run a Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals health audit and email you the scores with a plain-language summary of what we worked on, a paper trail your compliance file will appreciate. The SLAs are published, we track our own misses and apply most credits without a claim, and hosted add-ons carry a 99.9% uptime SLA with automatic credits. The catalog also runs far past the website: blogging on an enterprise-grade CMS, e-commerce, digital advertising, CRO and A/B testing, analytics and ROI reporting, multi-language, site search, and custom integrations, all on one published rate card and month-to-month after the first year, so the practice never outgrows the vendor.
The search story is the quiet advantage. Every build includes on-page SEO, a managed Google Business Profile, NAP citations, LocalBusiness schema, sitemaps, and GEO/AEO work for AI-driven search, included rather than tiered, and TechTailors is founder-led by someone who came up through SEO. “Financial advisor near me” is a local fight, and a fast, original site with a managed profile wins it against the thousandth copy of a pre-approved template. SEO add-ons exist for advisors who want to press harder; the foundation is never extra.
Then there is how it feels to be a client. The person who built your site answers your messages, on a published clock (24 business hours on Professional), and clients text us directly instead of opening tickets. Custom integrations at $250 one-time apiece regularly replace recurring middleware, wiring your scheduler, CRM, and archiving tools together once instead of renting the glue monthly. Discounts stack: annual prepay is two months free and halves the build and setup fees, bulk pricing takes up to $1,000 off per month as spend grows, and the referral program pays up to $10,000.
You would tell a client to read the exit terms first, so here are ours. The Blueprint is a fixed quote whose deliverable is yours to keep either way; the build bills by milestone, never prepaid; and the 30-day satisfaction guarantee is a written exit from the remaining 11 months if the fit is wrong after Go Live. Exit fee: zero. Offboarding: documented before you sign. The code buy-out is open from day one: build-and-buy-outright at Go Live is a standard engagement, priced at the at-signing cap ($9,000 on a $300/month site), and for practices that stay managed the cap falls to $5,400 after four anniversaries, so staying makes leaving cheaper. The annual review states, in writing, when you should be paying us less, which is the fiduciary standard applied to ourselves. And if your firm qualifies as an eligible small business, the accessibility work in every build may qualify for the federal ADA Section 44 credit of up to $5,000 a year (IRS Form 8826); the calculator estimates it, and the estimate is not tax advice.
Month 13: what you hold
Read the table as a snapshot, not a schedule: month 13 is simply the first renewal. The accounts are yours from day one, and the buy-out can be exercised at Go Live.
| At month 13 | TechTailors | Typical advisor platform |
|---|---|---|
| Domain and DNS | Your registrar, your Cloudflare zone | Often platform-managed; transfer varies |
| Hosting account | Yours; we are a removable collaborator | The platform |
| Analytics history | Your accounts, exportable free | Platform dashboards |
| Content | Yours, exportable | Library content is licensed; your own writing varies |
| The site code | Buy-out any time; the price drops at every anniversary you stay | Platform-resident; no ownership path |
| Cost to leave | Zero exit fee, documented offboarding | Rebuild, plus whatever the setup fee bought stays behind |
When each option is the right call
Snappy Kraken at $99 is the honest budget answer for a solo advisor who wants a compliant template presence and marketing automation from one login. FMG Suite fits practices that want the full marketing machine with compliance review workflow built in; that workflow is the product, and it is real. The broker-dealer lane is not a choice when your BD mandates an approved-vendor list: use the approved vendor, and we will say exactly that on a call, because FINRA-style review integration is what those platforms sell and we do not. Custom agencies make sense when brand is the strategy and the budget is five figures. TechTailors is the right call for independent RIAs who control their vendor choices and want Reg S-P artifacts instead of assurances, a design no other advisor is running, SEO built in rather than tiered, performance that holds a public guarantee, and infrastructure they own at month 13.
Verify us, not our copy
Our one public client site is live and testable: goldmanchiropracticcenter.com, with its PageSpeed results one click away, the same monthly test behind our Lighthouse guarantee. Our own security posture is graded by three independent scanners at /security. Diligence us the way you would any holding, no sales call required: run your current site through the website health checker, price your practice in the calculator, or order the free Agency Audit. The full series runs the same math for law firms, CPAs, medical practices, and therapists.
